Associate Director/Director, Epilepsy Marketing

Reporting to the Senior Director, Epilepsy Marketing, the individual in this position will be responsible for leading the mid and long-term epilepsy strategy and lifecycle planning for eslicarbazepine acetate, a novel anti-epileptic drug currently under review with the FDA. This is a highly visible position, with substantial strategic and operational freedom, for a CNS specialty focused product targeted to meet a significant unmet medical need.
Essential Functions • Lead for the development of the mid and long-term epilepsy product strategy
• Commercial lead for the design, rationale, and development of epilepsy phase III and IV indication(s), formulation(s), and differentiation studies.
• Commercial lead for input on product labeling, including NDA/sNDA regulatory strategies
• Co-Lead (along with the Organized Customer Groups functions) for product pricing and contracting strategies
• Team point for epilepsy forecasting.
• Team point for overall marketing budget
• In-line commercial representative on the cross-functional Strategic Operating Committee (SOC)
Minimum education requirements Masters
Experience required 7 - 10 Years
Knowledge & skills (general and technical) • 8+ years of pharmaceutical/device experience with; a) 4+ years of product marketing experience (e.g. marketing communications, market research, brand team); b) 2+ years of pharmaceutical/device sales experience preferred.
• Bachelors degree or greater in a scientific discipline plus an advanced degree (e.g. PhD, MBA, MD) or equivalent experience required
• Prior direct experience in a market analysis and strategy setting role (e.g. management consulting, brand strategy lead) required
• Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical product planning and execution including new product launches, product marketing and sales required.
• Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical clinical and regulatory development process required.
• Prior anti-epileptic drug (AED) market experience desirable.
• Ability to interact widely and effectively within the company across departments and management levels.
• Ability to manage ambiguous environments and develop and execute action plans in areas without prior precedent.
• Proven teamwork and collaboration skills
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
